May 25th - Last interview with Pres. Mehr

Good Afternoon family!

This past week has been a real spiritual experience.  My last zone conference, last interview with President Mehr, and last time seeing some people.  It is now hitting me that I am returning home just now.  In my interview with President Mehr we heard an air plane from outside and he paused and said "does that sound make you trunky Elder?" lol and replied "I try my best not to think about it".  President Mehr sets foot off the Caribbean July first and President Harrington with be my new mission President for my last transfer.  My interview with President Mehr we spoke a lot about Eternal marriage, real estate, and some of the doctrinal diamonds found in D&C 88.  I then asked him what his secret was to his success as CEO.  I was expecting something profound, but he simply said "hard work.. the hardest workers always have the most success"  He then told me that you can tell what kind of a business man you're going to be by how you carry out your missionary work.

Zone Conference was great!  Sister Mehr taught us about Testimony.  Something great she said was "a lot of missionaries and members who come up to the pulpit often times confess they have a testimony but don't bear it". Very true.  Throughout my mission, I have listened to many missionaries departing testimonies and when they get up to speak it turns to a "story time about my mission" rather than a testimony of the gospel.   Here's a quote from PMG on Testimony,

testimony is spiritual witness and assurance given by thHoly GhostTo bear testimonis to give simple,direct declaration of belief—a feelingan assurance, conviction ogospel truth. Sharing your testimony often is one of the most powerful ways of inviting the Spirit and helping others feel the Spirit.

President Mehr then spoke about the beneficent Atonement.  Something he shared was astonishing,  recently a scientist confirmed that there is life outside this world, light years away there is life.  There are worlds with out number, and it truly is a blessing to know that the person who made it possible to live with God visited this Earth.  We don't know if Christ visited other worlds, but this much we do know, is that he was born, raised, atoned, and died here on this earth making it possible for the infinite amount of worlds to return to live with God again.

These were just a few thought would be of worth to you all.  I love and miss you all.  I would be lying to you guys if I said I wasn't missing home. but don't worry it doesn't affect the way I work for the Lord.

A quote by President Mehr reguarding exaltation:

"if you are not hungry, you aint gonna make it"

With love,

Elder Brown
