November 4th - Mosquito bite!

"Afternoon family and friends.  Sounds like a lot of fun has been going on in Utah and what a blessing to hear about the Farnes family, congrats to them.  Congrats Nana and Lawrence for the good grades.  Send my love to Lepi...funny boy.

Well, although I haven't been here long, I feel that my life has changed so much.  I feel very close to my Father in Heaven and I can feel His love every day.  I try to find strength to do His work through prayers and trying to repent daily.  I often think of the youth who are preparing to serve a mission, how important for them to be well prepared, study the scriptures completely, pray daily and learn to be exactly obedient.  I also know how important the role parents play in the lives of their children, and how much of an impact it can make to sit down with their children and study the scriptures together then explain what it means and then most importantly to LIVE BY ITS TEACHINGS.  I can't believe how much I've grown on my mission.  Heavenly Father has been so good to me and the work here in Diego Martin is progressing.  I just love the people here.

On Thursday, we ran into 2 Rastafarians, we introduced ourselves and they invited us into their well decked out studio.  Eld. Hatch played the piano for them and they sang "Amazing Grace" (horrible haha).  They showed us some of their songs and we shared our message with them after.

On Saturday we did a service project for the homeless shelter in town, man that was a very humbling experience, one of the worst poverty areas I have ever seen in my life, but sure glad I had the opportunity to help (Pictures coming).

Bytheway, on Friday I had an infection on my elbow from a mosquito bite and was infected badly, around 11 pm we had to go see Eld. Smith (Missionary Doctor).  He is sending the video of what he had to do to it, so don't let the kids watch this or if you can't stomach this, don't watch it.  By the way, how's my application to BYU?  Thank you, love and miss you all."
