Afternoon family and friends! Thank you so much for the Christmas box. I LOVE MY CANTEEN TIE! All the elders in my district want my tie so bad and they are even willing to trade anything for it...hahaha it's D BESS:)
It has been a very struggling week for Eld. Ferrin and I. We haven't been able to bring an investigator to church since my transfer here. I kept thinking of people who are struggling out there and think of our struggle to find investigators, couldn't help but kept referring back to Mosiah 7:33, read along with me...."But if ye will turn to the Lord with full purpose of heart, and put your trust in Him, and serve Him with all diligence of mind, if ye do this, He will, according to His own will and pleasure, deliver you out of bondage." Isn't that comforting to know???
This past week, I studied a lot about the "Exaltation, President Mehr went into depth about it and it blew my mind away just like other doctrines he had taught....WOW! Learning more about being exalted made me realized that the greatest happiness for all human kind is to have an eternal family. After listening to him, made me realized how exciting to one day be able to seal to a spouse (man and a woman as God saith, not the other way the world perceived :( ) and have my own little family. To me, it's the greatest happiness of all, but as of now, I find great joy in being God's servant and fulfilling my calling as a missionary to save lost souls.
I can't imagined how this work can be done without faith which is something I want to leave with you. In Hebrew 11:1...."Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." You really have to be confident in what can't be seen with our physical eyes. I have also come to realized that miracles do not produce faith, but faith is only developed by being obedient to the commandments and the gospel of Jesus Christ. In other words, faith comes through righteous living, although miracle is often the confirmation of our faith.
By the way, my companion, Eld. Ferrin is a great cook, he makes great pancakes. We ride our bike a lot in the rain and now my white shirts are like turning yellow because of the mud, but don't worry, all is well for it's making me feel like a real missionary. I love it!
I leave with you my testimony, I know for a fact that this is the ONLY TRUE CHURCH on the earth. The gospel blesses lives. May you all continue to study and read your scriptures because it's amazing how one's life can change by doing it. I love and miss you guys and see you all on Wednesday:)))
Love,
Eld. Brown
