WUSS-D-SCENE NAH FAMILY?!
You will all be hearing more of my Trini accent because I am going back to TRINIDAD!! I will be serving in Couva (Central Trinidad) with Elder Guzman and will be the new Zone Leader! I was shocked when I received this assignment from Pres. Mehr. Usually Elders start from District Leader then advance to Zone Leader. I am so excited yet feel very humbled with this stupendous privilege to lead.
Thank you so much for sharing those Conference talks with me. I love hearing from the Quorum of the twelve, they're truly inspiring!
I am so proud of Lawrence and his deep knowledge and testimony of the BOM. I have come across PLENTY people who don't believe this book. They try to intimidate and confuse you but in cases like that, you just bear your testimony and walk away to avoid contention. I am so grateful for Pres. Mehr and his counsels to us and purpose to FLOOD THE BOOK OF MORMON IN THE WEST INDIES MISSION. We are contacting and teaching from the BOM more than ever and this has strengthened and increased my testimony expeditiously.
Our last Zone Conference was amazing, meetings like this you always walk out feeling reenergized and powered up to work even harder.
My week has been great, but I am a little devastated with having to leave so quickly the people of Guyana whom I have grown to love SOOOO much. Last night I couldn't sleep, perhaps I fell asleep around 3 am just cause I kept thinking about the wonderful people I have served and worked with in this area. I am going to miss them so much:(
I spoke with Elder Hatch (my very first companion), he's Pres. Mehr's Assistant I think I've mentioned that in one of my previous letters, well he told me of Pres. Mehr's thoughts about me and his goal and intention and wants me to carry the fire that I have started in Guyana and bring it to Trinidad! Again, I am humbled and ready to hit the road when I get there. I should be leaving this Wednesday!
This week Elder Woodruff and I have found new people to teach and all referred from our recent converts. All 6 of them already have a set date for baptism. They're progressing very well and they all came to Church on Sunday...amazing huh? Well, I can't wait to get to work in my new area.
On Sunday I bore my testimony and shared the same talk Bishop Po'uha spoke on several weeks ago about the "part-time, full-time and seasonal people." After Church, the members came up and expressed gratitude for what I said because it was something they needed to hear. That's why Mom I'm so thankful with all your weekly letters, sharing with me amazing talks from Church and other meetings. A lot of times when I don't have any stories to share, I always refer to these stories that you share weekly and I make it applicable to our investigators.
I sure do LOVE this work. I pray and hope the best for all of you, until next time!
With love,
Elder Brown
