Good afternoon everyone!
It's a beautiful day in TOBAGO:) Elder Guzman and I flew out last night and we're here in Tobago to do trade-offs with the Elders. We are excited to work here with these wonderful Elders & Sisters.
Yesterday we had Thanksgiving dinner with all the missionaries in Trinidad & Tobago. President Mehr shared a thought with us about gratitude. He asked us an important question, "Does God need to be grateful?" He paused for a moment and we were all quiet. Then he said, "God must be grateful, it's the only way He can be who He is right now." WOW!
Henry B. Eyring said, "Remembrance is the seed of gratitude which is the seed of generosity. Gratitude for the remission of sins is the seed of charity, the pure love of Christ, and so God made possible this blessing, a change in our very nature. Gratitude also softens our hearts and attracts Godly attributes." Something that I never really thought of it much before but it's so true....gratitude does attract Godly attributes!
Not a egregious week for Elder Gusman and I. We had a lot of success this week with working with the members. This past Friday the Couva ward had a game night. We had many less actives and 3 investigators attended. It was fun getting to know the members that I haven't met before.
AFeesha Hamlet is our most progressing investigator! She hasn't missed Church since the day we invited her to come. She reads the BOM everyday and we finally got her to commit to a baptism date for December 20th. We are so proud of the progress she's making, and something that we admire a lot is how she has a great desire to go to the Temple. Applying all the things we have learned in MLC has definitely helped us balance our efforts in achieving real growth. Our investigators and members are catching on the vision to gaze to the Temple!
Well family, we are getting close to achieving our mission goal of 600 baptisms. We are promised that if we get this goal all the missionaries will get the new iPad! haha just kidding! Well I am so grateful to be here and the opportunity to work and serve the Lord at this time of my life. I LOVE IT and there's no better feeling or thought than knowing the Lord is working along by our side in His vineyard.
Well I look forward to hearing from all of you next week. Same some turkey for me please haha:). Oh yeah I'm 208 exactly right now Mom....too much good food here!
With love & gratitude,
Elder Brown
P.s...Hi Achilles! How's Ulysses doing?
