Exciting news! This coming week all the Zone leaders from the mission are flying down to Trinidad for our semi-annual missionary leadership council. Elder Patetefa is a Zone leader now and I'm excited to see him there. I remember when he first arrived, he called me while we were tracting, he shared with me how excited he was to be a missionary and hoping we would see each other soon. Our meeting will go from Nov. 11th to the 13th. This meeting we will be focusing on "REAL GROWTH" which is:
1. Baptism/confirmation
2. Retention
3. Reactivation
With these, our mission will expeditiously grow stronger and the number of church attendance will also increase. I'm excited to be spiritually fed this coming week!
Last Friday, Elder Guzman and I did a "shadow" on our sister missionaries in our Zone, meaning we sat and observed how the sister missionaries teach and also following up on their work in their area. We were able to help them focus on "Real Growth" by helping them understand the need for finding people to teach and this was a great need in their area. We pray that they may work diligently to find those that are prepared by the Lord.
A success for us this week was with Betty and her 11 year old son, Joshua. We visited with them on a regular basis, taught them and they came to church:) They shared with us how much they enjoyed coming to church and could hardly wait to come back next Sunday. We have also committed them to baptism on Nov. 15th. We encouraged them to continue reading the BOM and attending church to strengthen them as they prepare for baptism.
We have a lot of progressing investigators at this time, but none have baptismal dates. This week our focal point will be on setting baptism dates with them.
I'm proud of the work you all do from home. I appreciate the love and support I get from all of you daily. I pray and think of you all every time I'm on my knees. I hope you all have a blessed week.
With love,
Elda Brong
