Thank you for keeping me updated mama!
Boy all the Brong kids are getting tick (fat) haha. I am amazed how much they have grown!
Serving with Elder Shroeder in Valencia, shared with me stories of his brother in the Philippines. I remember his showing me a picture of the toilets there, no toilet paper, soap, and a little wash hose. Lol.
Transfers was last week and I am now with Elder Bates!! Boy he is awesome! He came out with me in August and has served all over Trinidad. Elder Bates is from Washington State and lives on a 1500 acre farm! He also knows how to sing and cook really well! I am blessed to have a personal chef this transfer! :) We get along just great, we are determined to give it our best efforts this week!
Yesterday at the end of our finding time, as we were heading back to our car I felt a prompting to look to the right and I noticed a bird cage. Now this bird cage was no Trinidadian bird cage but a Guyanese bird cage. Trinidadian bird cages are much bigger than Guyanese, so we dashed to call into the house and what do you know we find a humble Guyanese family! I was so stoked when I met the family, it brought me wonderful memories of my time in Guyana. After gaffing (talking) a little bit, we asked to share a Christmas message with his family. Brother Rahim is married and has tree (3) kids! How lucky we were, they had internet and a big screen TV. We then shared the video "He is the Gift" from the church website. The spirit was powerful as we shared our thoughts and testimonies after the video. I offered Brother Rahim to say a kneeling prayer and what joy it brought to me to see this humble family kneel together with us. I am so grateful for the promptings of the spirit we must always stay alert for these thoughts and feelings as a missionary because I know the Lord is preparing his children wherever you go.
Well family that is my little success story for you all. I love you all and I pray for you daily. I thank you for your thoughts and prayers, they strengthen me to work even harder.
With love,
Elder Brown
