March 2nd - New companion from Vernal, Utah, Elder Merrell

Good Afternoon Family!

Weber here I come! It's all good, I know what I need to do to get to the top.  My mission has definitely taught me a lot about hard work.  Lol I guess that's a good thing that I am not going to BYU, like you said mom it's known for a marriage school, I definitely do not want to get married without my right hand man (Lawrence) there. Plus I will get to spend some quality time with you guys at home, and still go to my favorite gym :)

Well St. Lucia is by far my favorite place on my mission.  This place is a paradise!  I have never seen so many white people on mission until I came here.  Plenty tourists and crew ships come and go daily.

Elder Merrell is from Vernal Utah. He is 18 and is really fun to be around.  We get along really well and have a lot of common ground!  I am finally in a walking area!  Most of my mission I have been in a car, it's really nice to be on foot because you meet a lot of people that way and you get a good cardio in from walking up and down the hills.  St. Lucia is filled with black people and the major religion is Catholic.  I have to thank dad for sending me that talk about the restoration of the gospel. I now have a good understanding about the religion here so it's easy to find common ground with the people here. We are doing a lot of finding in our area, we are doing our best to build up our teaching pool, and so far we have found a few people preparing to be baptized!

Sweet little experience I had this past Friday while teaching a lady we contacted.  As we taught her about the Book of Mormon, I felt prompted to share a few verses in 3 Nephi 17.  When I read verse 7 and 8 I felt the spirit so strong, I remember looking at Kasy and she immediately marked the verse and said, "I feel really good about this."  We testified of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and how she can receive answers through the Holy Ghost.

Well family, I hope you all have a safe and enjoyable week!  I sure do love and miss you all!

With love,

Elder Brown

Ps.....√Well as you can see from the picture, even the dog shakes our hands"
