January 20th - Power Of the Priesthood

Wuss-D-Scenery Fambeanery!  Just have to emphasize the "D" is how you say it mum:)

Thank you for sharing Bishop Po'uha's talk with me.  What he said about being obedient is so true, as a matter of fact in our last meeting with Eld. Anderson from the quorum of the seventy, he concluded by saying he had never seen such an obedient group of missionaries before.  That's because our mission president, President Mehr is all about OBEDIENCE.

I am doing well Mum, so well that I have gained 10 lbs, but I am slowly losing it because I'm dieting.  About my hair, I cut it myself as well as the rest of the elders in my zone with my clipper.  Everything here is super cheap so don't worry so much about me.  One thing I know for sure that when you exercise, your obedience to the commandments increase.  So I exercise daily, in fact I have a little workout plan that's working well for me.

Well, another week that has gone by so quickly.  Last Friday I had my interview with President Mehr and had to recite the whole chapter of Alma 29.  I did so well but the last verse I sort of stumbled but he helped me out lol. He then asked me if I had any questions for him, I asked him how can I pray more fervently.  His reply was, "you have to take a little time to think about what you want to say then formulate questions in your mind then write them down so that you don't forget, and when you pray, ask Heavenly Father inspired questions and the Holy Ghost will confirm it to you if it's right or wrong."  I mean it's a familiar things we hear all the time, but the way he explained it to me just blew my mind away.

Another question I had for him was, "how do you become a successful businesses man?" Almost immediately he said, "HARD WORK," he then likened hard work to "football" and what you will do to play on a Friday night football game.  President Mehr is such a BOSS!

Well finally some good news for this week, our most solid investigators, Cindy and Jason will be getting married and be baptized on Saturday the 25th.  Cindy wasn't feeling well yesterday so she missed church.  We went down to visit her and we were inspired to talk about the power of the Priesthood.  I opened to Luke 9:1:  "Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases."  We explained to her that we hold the same power and authority to heal the sick, almost immediately she asked for a blessing.  As we walked out, she yelled out, "Eldas…I'm feeling better, tonks!" hahaha

I hope everyone has a good week, can't wait to hear from you again.

Love,
Eld. Brown
