February 10th - A simple mistake can cause a chaos

Good afternoon everyone!

Well this week has been a blast!!!  Elder Ferrin and I met all of our goals but fell short on one of our contacts.  On Saturday, we had a missionary fireside, not a whole lot of people attended but we were able to make it fun and a success.  Basically, we took everyone through a little phase of showing them the life of a missionary beginning from when they received their mission call, entering the MTC  and missionary proselyting, etc.

Later that night, after dropping off some of the missionaries, we couldn't find our cell phone and so we were unable to make our nightly calls with the missionaries in our zone. We were hoping one of the missionaries probably accidentally picked it up.  Because we were so tired, we went home instead of going back to look for it.

During the night, a search was issued for us because the mission was worried that we have been kidnapped.  Apparently all the cops in Grande and Valencia were looking for us.  The landlord said that there were cops all over our place calling our names and pounding on our door but we were knocked out cold that night.  THIS ALL HAPPENED DUE TO ONE LITTLE MISTAKE OF MISPLACING THE PHONE….haha, but we are fine though!  So lesson learned, "Making the simplest mistake in the Lord's work, can cause a chaos….so, don't assume all will be well and never go to bed without making sure all is in place because the Lord's work is a work of order."

The next morning, lo and behold the phone was found in the backseat of the car with 15 missed calls:(

Yesterday, Elder Ferrin and I were invited to attend one of our investigators church, her name is Sherry.  It's called the Arima Deliverance Temple church.  When we got there, Sherry greeted us with a small warning that this was going to be a very loud church and she looked at us and asked, "are you ready for it?"  With no hesitation I said, "oh yes!"  Wow, she was not kiddin'!  From beginning to the end, was a completely SCREAMING!

Well family and friends, all I can say but with respect to this church, with this experience is that I HAVE NEVER FELT THE DEVIL SO REAL IN MY LIFE…I will leave it at that!  I pray and hope for Sherry and her family will see the light and be baptized soon so we can get her out from that atmosphere.

After the service, the Pastor's daughter ran up to me and asked to take a picture with us…haha that was cool!

Anyway, I enjoyed looking at all the pictures of the families and friends from the Aida play.  I was a little trunkie, wished I was there to see it but there's work to do.  I'm always happy to hear of all the good news from Utah.

Nice to see Kelepi's pictures, tell him he is the BOSS (that's what they call cool people here).  As far as my weight, I'm at 215 lbs.  The transfer is over and I continue to stay in Valencia but with a new companion that will be arriving this Wednesday, his name is Elder Shrowder.  Elder Ferrin will be transferred to South of San Fernando Trinidad.

Well, do know that I continue to pray for each and everyone of you.  I sure do miss and love you guys.  Hope you all have a lime week!

Love,
Eld. Brown
