February 3rd - True desire

Good morning Everyone!

We are at  the close of week 5 of the transfer.  I have one more week left with Eld. Ferrin before the transfer on Friday, I have a feeling I will be transferred either to Guyana or Barbados...we shall see!  Looking back at the beginning of the transfer, I remember fasting for the purpose of getting a baptism before the next transfer and it would be appropriate to have one more before I'm transferred.

The Lord has been very good to us as we try our hardest every day to find those that are prepared to hear our message.

This week, we have been working with Zora and her grand-daughter, Shania.  They're super sweet people and we committed them to be baptized on March 22nd.  Jason will be baptized on February 15th.

Last Saturday night, Eld. Ferrin and I had an interesting experience, we were invited to attend the Pentecostal Church and man that was really weird lol.  After attending this church, it made me appreciate the gospel more and I testify that what we have and being a member of our Church, it's the only true Church on the earth.

On Sunday, I fasted for the purpose to know my true desire in life.  I encourage all of you to do the same.  Find out what's your purpose on earth and your true desire in life.  I came across an interesting scripture found in Alma 29:4 it reads:  "I ought not to harrow up in my desires, the firm decree of a just God, for I know that he granteth unto men according to their desire, whether it be unto death or unto life; yea,  I know that he alloteth unto men, yea, decreeth unto them decrees which are unalterable, according to their wills, whether they be unto salvation or unto destruction."

Well, I am so happy to be a missionary and to serve the Lord at this time of my life.  Yesterday I bore my testimony in sacrament meeting and I looked directly at the youth and encouraged them not to think about going on a mission, but to do it.  I told them that they have nothing to lose, nothing better out there to do but to give up 2 years of their lives to feed God's sheep.

Thank you Mom for the scriptures and treats, we love eating them after a long day of tracking.  Love the pictures and congrats to Tana and everyone who are in the Aida play, looked really fun.  Congrats to Nana for being accepted to Nuames, are you sure Mom she doesn't cheat in school??? hahaha jk Nana…little smarty pants!  I'm doing okay with my clothes, some have really changed color but I'm okay.  I've given away some ties and shirts to some of our new converts.  Over all, I'm fine.

I hope everyone has a good week.  I sure do love and miss you all!

Love,
Elder Brown
