March 10th: 6 investigators…about time!

Wuss-d-scene family!

Thank you for sharing that scripture (Alma 37:35-37) with me Mom.  It's one of my favorite ones.  Bishop Po'uha was truly inspired to share that scripture with our ward members.   I used that scripture a lot when talking to some of our investigators who are struggling in life and it actually has helped me as a missionary as well.

We have our upcoming Zone Conference sometime next month or May and President Mehr has asked us to memorize some scripture references and 10 scripture by heart.  Guess what?  I am memorizing 42 scripture references plus the 10 scriptures.  During Conference, we will recite them to President Mehr and have a spiritual debate/role play.  He's going to play the role of an investigator and we'll each take a turn teaching him….intimidating lol!

Anyway, this has been the best week so far because we were able to invite 6 investigators to Church on Sunday…about time!  One of them is a girl name Dianna.  She's very nice!  One day we were working on our car when I noticed her walking by.  I was prompted to talk to her.  Since then, we were able to teach her and she's most likely going to be baptized on the 22nd.  She struggles with the word of wisdom but there's hope she will deny all of that if she has the desire to change.

One of the most poignant scriptures that I love to ponder on so often is 1 Nephi 3:7:  "I will go and do…" Nephi was the quintessential man of obedience.  His last words in the scripture were, "AND I MUST OBEY."  Nephi totally put his trust in the Lord and his father.  He knew that he didn't understand all things, but through being obedient, he was led and taught by the Spirit to know all things.  I now have come to revere the character of Nephi and he's truly my hero!

Thank you for the thumb drive, everything works except for the talks, but don't worry I will download them from the mission office.  I knew you would be wondering how in the world I learned how to climb a coconut tree…well, a little confession….I used a ladder hahaha…it got me half way up and then I climbed the rest of it, still not bad huh mom?  Oh, and I climbed barefoot like those PCC people lol.

Well, that's all from me this week, I hope you all have a lime week!

Love,
Elder Brown
