Good evening family!
My heart just sank as I learned about what happened to Miller. I CAN'T BELIEVE HE'S GONE! I feel like it was just yesterday that we had some good laugh and time together. My heart goes out to his family and especially to his little brothers whom they looked up to him so much. But he's definitely in a much better place now continuing with his mission.
Mom, don't worry about me, I am very careful when it comes to doing service projects. I know what I've learned in boy scouts about being safe and cautious with doing outdoor projects. But no matter how careful one can be, when the Lord calls, we don't have a choice but to go.
Everything is going great here in Valencia. My companion and I had an expeditious week. We exceeded most of our goals and we found a GOLD MINE OF INVESTIGATORS! I am so excited to be working with these new families we just met last week.
This Saturday, we're going to have 3 baptisms. They're Tabeeka, Dianna and Dillon. They're awesome and I have been teaching them for the last 3 months now and I pray and hope everything will fall into place this week as we prepare them for their baptism.
Dianna and Tabeeka struggle with the word of wisdom (smoking) but they have been cleaned since last Saturday. We're so proud of them and I've learned that when you give a small genuine compliment to someone, it really can boost up their confidence and what they desire to do.
Today for P-day, we went zip-lining! It was super fun. We could see the beautiful ocean below us as we zipped through 7 stations and each one of them had an amazing view of the island. I DEFINITELY HAVE THE BEST MISSION ON EARTH:)
My love for the scriptures continues to grow every day as I read, study and ponder on it. One thing I found myself doing this past week that every night when I kneel to pray, I ponder upon the words I highlighted every morning in my scriptures and picture how I can teach them to our investigators. By doing this, it helps me remember them more and they become the last thing in my mind before I fall asleep.
Yesterday, we had a fireside. One of the members from the South Zone said, "Brothers and sisters, we have the best kept secret mission in the world, now let's go out there and share it. Whether you're in a taxi, store or anywhere, share the gospel." I encourage you my family and friends to do the same thing. Don't be afraid to share what you know.
Well, that's it from my end, hope everyone has a great week till' next time.
Love,
Elder Brown
