Yes yes wuss-d-scene family!
Yesterday was a holiday in Trinidad that's why I was unable to write to you guys. I was kinda bummed because I wanted to say Happy birthday to Dad, but here it goes Dad, I'm singing to you:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR DAAAAD
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
(I'm biting on the cake and eating ice-cream for you lol) There's my song for you Dad from Trinidad haha!
Okay Mom, here are the answers to your questions: "The $400 that comes to you, what do you use it on?" As you can see on the pictures, these are the kind of food and ting ting that we eat. Elder Schroeder and I really try to budget our money and save especially towards food, email and other necessary needs only.
"What have you come to appreciate lately?" Being here in the West Indies for almost 8 months have really opened my eyes to appreciate small things that I have back home such as a running clean water, home, best medical care and hospitals, transportation and the list goes on. I've also realized how much work I need to do here but little time I have. Lately, I've been pondering on the ATONEMENT. My eyes and heart have really opened up to understand the actual love the Savior had for each and everyone of us. He is so merciful and because of that my heart continues to be softened. The Atonement continues to be the principle I so appreciate!
"Do you eat at the members home?" Not really a lot, just once a week like every Thursday we eat at the Rhamdawnie's home, they're amazing people and one of my favorite members in the Grande ward. They feed us with really yummy roti. Other than that, Elder Schroeder and I cook our own food at home.
"Do you feel that you have been keeping the mission rules 100%?" YES MOM…true blue through and through!
"Scripture for the week?" Alma 37:6 - "By small and simple things are great things brought to pass." This was the scripture I came across this morning and it came to my mind that if our investigators can just read a verse in the BOM, I know great things can happen in their lives if they just pick up the BOM and read a verse.
Well, I guess I've answered all of your questions Mom…I hope lol!
President Mehr has asked us to establish a house meeting with the ward members where the members invite non members and friends over and we provide some fun activities and end it with some uplifting spiritual thought. Guess what? So far, we have organized and planned for 2 house meetings and we're super excited about it. Due to lack of doing missionary work here in Valencia, this idea was inspired by our mission President.
Well, that's it for now, thanks for the pictorials Mom. Have a great week everyone!
Love,
Elder Brown
p.s…If you can just throw in the box some honey bunches oats with almonds please, greatly appreciated….Malo!
