Happy happy birthday Momma dear,
Happy days will come to you all year,
If I had a wish that it would be,
A happy happy birthday to you from me:)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!
Good afternoon family!
Looks like everyone had a fun week, BUT NOT AS FUN AS MISSIONARY WORK:) Thanks for sharing Bishop's talk about the "Thinking cap," in fact a while ago, I pondered over the same thing. Often I wonder why human beings put on the "mortal thinking cap" as Bishop had said, when they react to something silly and unnecessary. Reflecting on it many times, I came across a scripture in 1 John 4:18 it reads: "There is no fear in love; but perfect love CASTETH OUT FEAR: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love." That's the reason why human can be easily provoked is because of fear, as John thus said, "Perfect love," that casteth out fear."
Just imagine the kind of love our Savior has for each and everyone of us. He always put on the "Spiritual thinking cap," He never once reacted negatively to what people put him through during his time on earth and that was because he had "Perfect love" for everyone. In Isaiah 53:4-5: Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed."
This past week, we had a really great experience during one of our findings in an area where we had never been to. During our driving, I remember feeling a little frustrated due to previous appointments that didn't go through. I remember saying a little prayer in my heart, asking Heavenly Father to please place someone in our path so that we can teach. After driving through a bushy and muddy area, we arrived at a small quiet village, in front of us was a small shack. We parked the car and got out not knowing what was ahead of us. As we started walking towards this small shack and not even before we got to the door, this Jamaican woman name Kim quickly opened the door as if she was already expecting us.
Kim explained to us that she has been so confused with so many different churches and she's been wanting to know which one is the true church. Kim doesn't belong to any one of them because of her fear of joining the wrong one. We taught her about Joseph Smith and the restoration and then left her with a Book of Mormon. She was stoked about everything we taught and excited to read the BOM.
Before I end, I want to leave with you Mosiah 2:41….to be happy is only found through keeping the commandments…"For behold they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into Heaven…"
That's all from me for now, I can't wait to Skype with you guys on Mother's day. May you all have a wonderful week, till' next time! Btw….good job losing weight Dad…continue to eat clean and exercise, proud of you Dad:)
With love,
