Good afternoon family!
Hahaha I had a good laugh after the phone call prank yesterday. Sorry if I made you felt terrified Mum!
Well, congrats to Lawrence for being nominated to speak at his graduation, wish I could be there to hear him. Congrats to Tana & Boogie for being famous…wow that's an awesome news about Tana winning Utah best actress in HS musical theatre.
It looks like your ward provident living workshop was a success. This is a great idea. I will suggest this to President Curtain in our next ward council meeting.
My new companion, Elder Felix loves you guys! He is very excited to come live there with our family. Hopefully his visa and schooling stuff will work out so that he will have an opportunity to study there. Just as what he explained yesterday to you guys, his mother died right before he left on his mission. He doesn't know his real dad and doesn't have a good relationship with his step-dad. The only family members he has are his 2 little brothers. He's the first missionary sent from his island. Hopefully when we come home, he will find a good tahine to marry lol.
Wow Mum I didn't know you went through all that on your mission. I am grateful for all the little struggles I go through on my mission because those things have been helping me to work harder and know of my purpose here in this island. I know in the end, it will all be worth it!
I am serving in Berbice in a little town called New Hamsterdam. Man, the people here are so humble and probably one of the nicest people I have met on my mission. They are more laid back than the people of Trinidad. Guyana probably has the most less-active members in the mission. In our area, we have so many members but only a few come to Church. I am currently teaching the Elder's quorum class, it was a weird experience at first because I have never served as a teacher back home. But I am now learning a lot and enjoying it. The other day I had the chance to give a young man the Aaronic priesthood, love this experience, it felt good!
Well, we have 2 baptisms expected on the 24th & 31st.
It was so good to see you all yesterday and hopefully I'll see Dad on Christmas day. Have a great week!
Love,
Elder Brown
Sorry, forgot my wire:( I'll send some pictures next time…I have some really good ones! I still have the same mailing address.
