Wuss-d-scene nah family!
Congratulations to Lawrence, Danny and Tana! It's so nice to see a lot of the family at the graduation! Everyone is growing up so fast and bellies are growing on some people lol. I especially want to congratulate my little brother, Fotu for choosing to follow the Savior's example:) So proud of you Fotu!
We are emailing early this morning because we have a lot to do today, so I hope I get a reply out of this haha!
How did Lawrence speech go? Was it boring, awesome or poignant? haha!
Sweet week for Elder Felix and I. An experience we had last Tuesday afternoon. After a long hot day of finding/teaching, on our way to an appointment, a kid jumped out in the middle of the road and stopped us. I n my mind I thought it was just another kid trying to cause trouble to the "white guys," haha, but to my astonishment, he asked us to teach him.
The kid's name is Winston and he has been taught by missionaries in the past but wasn't able to be baptized due to still living with his grandmother. But now he's living on his own and receiving our discussions very well. He's so excited to be baptized and we have set a date for his baptism for June 14th nah mahn!!! I know that this little experience is serendipity!
On Saturday, President Mehr flew in and called us in for a meeting with our Branch President. The meeting was about how we can progress the missionary work here in New Amsterdam. President Mehr has asked us to put more emphasis on the youth and all the seminary/institute aged people and reactive them. So this week we will be doing just that!
On Sunday, I bore my testimony and spoke about the blessing of the Atonement and the expeditious work the youth can do if they serve a mission. Where I am serving, we have more young women than boys, unfortunately most of our boys are less active:( So not only we're trying to do missionary work here, we are trying to reactivate members as well.
Well that's all for now, I pray you all have a great week!:)
With love,
Elder Brown
