Whagoin family!
Wow it was so nice to see a lot of the family from grandma Sisi's side. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun!
It has been an awesome week. We had 3 baptisms: Nigel Gilbert, Onica Bentick and Shanta Sookdeo. Little Damien didn't pass his baptism interview, he came really close, we just need to do another run through with all the lessons and he would be good to go. Damien is scheduled for Saturday the 26th.
Well here's an amazing experience I want to share with you all. Last week, we went finding out in the hot sun. We decided to go to an area where we have never been to before. In my mind, I was playing that game tune I used to do when I was little, "eenie mini mani mo, catch a tiger by its toe, if it hollers let him go, eenie mini mani mo," BOOM!!!....we stopped at this little old shack and this sweet lady welcomed us in and introduced us to her daughter and 2 nieces. We talked and then continued to teach them about the Restoration. We also committed them to baptism. On Sunday, we met for the 2nd time and we extended a baptism date for August 26th. Wow! Amazing how the Lord works in mysterious ways. These people are awesome and they have such a wonderful spirit. These are the kind of people who were ready for a long time, but waiting for someone to come and teach them. I pray and hope that Elder Woodruff and I will stay another transfer because the work here in New Amsterdam branch is growing and we have seen it.
This Thursday is Zone Conference and we will be traveling down to George Town, which is an hour and a half away from Berbice. We will be speaking at this conference about Christlike attributes from Preach my gospel with a focus on faith, diligence and obedience. I am so excited to be spiritually fed from this Zone Conference. It's always a joy hearing and learning from President Mehr!
I pray for all of you every day. I hope everyone has a great week. I know our Heavenly Father is mindful of each and everyone of you.
With love,
Elder Brown
Ps...My ring is awesome, more pics will come next week. Thanks Mom and Dad for everything you do for me...love you!
