January 12th - "Ten men to work"

Good Afternoon family! :)

Looks like everyone is getting fit for the spring? haha Good I am glad you all are making healthy choices!  Elder Bates and I are going to start our diet this week.  As I am slowly approaching my death mark in August I am motivated to work even harder on the field and in the mornings when I work out!

This new transfer I will be with Elder Bates again! :)  I am glad I have another opportunity to work with him again, he sure is the quintessential leader and I admire him for that!

Thank you mom for your insights! haha I will definitely keep that in mind!  I think its a good idea that you give me some advice for after the mission because I do not want to come home clueless of what I want to become in life.

We are now at 6 months of the West Indies Mission before we split to the Trinidad and Barbados mission.  Barbados mission, the church will be paying 5 Million to establish the mission there and 15 million in the later years to come!  How about that for missionary work? The church is true! :)

This past week we had MLC (Missionary Leadership Coucil) and President Mehr is putting a big focus on working with the Ward and Branch leaders.  We learned how to follow-up with members and assist them in the work.  Something Sister Mehr shared about leadership I want to share with you.  "The Lord doesn't need a missionary who can do the work of ten men, he needs a missionary that can get ten men to work".  I love that because it talks about that in my book called "How to win friends and Influence people".  Boy every missionary that walks into our apartment always want to read that book!  It sure has helped me a lot with my missionary work that's for sure!  Learning to master the human psychology is sine qua non if you want to be a great leader!

Not much happened this week, looking forward to a new transfer and week to work harder than ever for the Lord!

With love,

Elder Brown
