Wish I was there to see Sione's talk! In the movie The Other Side of Heaven, I think it was the Tongan Elder who says something similar to what Sione said. He will be an excellent missionary in Florida!
That is wonderful to hear about your experience in FHE with the non member guy ('Amanaki). Papa is a master teacher with prodigious knowledge of the gospel doctrine. I can't wait to come home and have gospel discussions with papa! The non-member is kind of similiar to Amulek, "for the word of God, he being rejected by those who were once his friends and also by his father and his kindred" (Alma 15:16). I pray he will continue to be tenacious to the light and knowledge he recieved from FHE "and witness it unto him this day by going into the waters of baptism" (Alma 7:15).
This past week I was able to go on trade-off with Elder Ferrin (my past companion) who is now an assistant. I sure did learn a lot from him, I am now looking to improve asking inspired questions and teaching the doctrine found in the scriptures. For those of you that do not know what doctrine is it is: 1. Truth, 2. Eternal 3. Found in the scriptures 4. Answers the "why?".
This past Sunday I gave a talk on the Sabbath Day and what the Lord expects of us on the sabbath. My talk was based on D&C 59:9. I hope it was efficacious to those that listened, because sabbath day observance is a common commandment broken here in the Caribbean.
Another success I wish to share with you all is Elder Bates and I hit every single on of our key indicators and some of them we exceded them. I am rapturous with last week and I pray we will have the same expectations this new week!
