January 26th - Mom's eldbow

Good Morning Family!

Thank you for sharing Bishops talk with me, he really is the quintessential leader for the ward!

This past Sunday was fast and testimony Sunday for all the wards and Branches in Trinidad.  It was really good to fast with our investigators and members.  Our fast was based upon the scripture found in Alma 45:1.  The Nephites fasted for gratitude.  So as missionaries we fasted for gratitude of the Lord's tender mercies he has shown us this past year.  Every fast and testimony Sunday on my mission I swear I can feel mom's elbow in my ribs telling me to go up and bear my testimony. lol

Elder Bates and I did a great job this week working with our members.  We racked up a prodigious amount of member lessons this week which came by going on splits.  We are also very impressed with how well the Elders and Sisters in our Zone have been expeditious in their missionary efforts.

This past week as I taught about tithing, I can remember how selfish I was when it came to "pay-day".  Now that I understand the doctrine behind tithing I just can't wait to start paying my tithing. 10% Tithing 100% blessings is what I desire.  I pray you all are paying an honest tithe!

A few days ago while we were on splits we were out finding people to teach.  Boy it was my lucky day I ran into a pastor! He was nice and sat us down and we opened with a prayer.  After sharing about our purpose as missionaries I started to talk about the Book of Mormon and just like that he went off on me.  (he raised his voice at me for a good 6-7 minutes telling me how the bible is the only true book). Afterwards we thanked him for his kindness in letting us sit down with him and we bore our testimonies of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and left.   Experiences like this strengthen my testimony of the Book of Mormon, leads you to study it even more and more.

Well family thank you for being who you are, I love you all so much! Have a good week!

With love,

Elder Brown
